THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF LITERACY LEARNING

How do you teach reading and writing?

How Do you Teach English as A Foreign Language?

The ideal  conference is PATHWAYS TO LITERACY.   The conference is geared to not only instruct but to inspire. While a theoretical base is provided by our extraordinary keynote addresses, workshop sessions are extremely practical with hands-on ideas to take back to the classroom. PATHWAYS alumni say it has made a major impact in their lives as well as the lives of the children they teach.

PATHWAYS TO LITERACY CONFERENCES have been around for over 25 years, and for over 25 years these workshops have been changing classroom instruction and restoring the excitement of learning to both teachers and children. We have promoted and supplied this conference to educators from New York to California.  And our international sites include Germany, Italy, and China. Our staff consists of outstanding classroom teachers and leaders in literacy who provide first-hand exposure to concepts and strategies that are revolutionizing classroom practices. And to this mixture we add some of the country’s best known authors, illustrators, and conference speakers.

Forty years ago Bill Martin Jr inspired the concepts that undergird today's Pathways Conferences and EFL training.  Might we say that Bill was "ahead of his time?"

Bill Martin's most loved book is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do you See?"  At Pathways we ask you, the teacher, to see the world through your children's eyes.
